I began writing resumes as a Recruiter for an Orange County staffing firm to make sure my candidates stood out and made an impression for my client-companies. (This was when objective statements were the norm and LinkedIn didn't even exist!)
After my Masters, I left the corporate world to work as a Education and Counselor for public, charter, and private schools throughout Southern California. As a side hustle, I continued to create resumes for my colleagues, friends/family, on Craigslist, and grew steadily from referrals and word-of-mouth. I absolutely loved creating professional identities for my clients to help them land their dream jobs!
In 2014, I was at a breaking point as a new first-time mom. So, I took the plunge to launch SoCalResumes, so I could be present and home to raise my daughter while still doing what fulfills me professionally... writing great resumes and LinkedIn profiles that help professionals, like you, find jobs they love!
